Guidelines for Free Women.....

Women of the Fight Hearts may use 2d21.

Free women should know how to correctly skin and cut meat off of a Kailiauk
and tabuk.

Freewomen of the Tribe will start to put together the welcoming baskets for the new memebers and make sure they are delivered to the correct lodges.

Thoughts, body jesters and looks are punishable. They are seen in the room, you will be held accountable for them. If you wish to share rude thoughts go to To IMS DO NOT interrupt the RP with them.

A mated Woman depending on her offense will and can be tied to the lodge poles of her mates lodge til he is here to give or over see the punishment she has coming.

there will be NO blurring of the SNs. If one SN has a problem with a person leave that problem to the other SN. Blurring is not accepted and will not be tolerated any longer.

If you show disrespect to a Chief, Sleen solider, Spirit Warrior, YKR, Brave or any other male in the tribe, be prepared to suffer the punishment. Once it is done there is no turning back and claiming it was a joke. You did it now stand and take what is coming to you.

Any one mun shouldnt have more then two FW names in the tribe. Preferrbly one FW SN would be good. If you have the urge to make another or feel your current FW isnt happy in her SL, then end the SL and start anew, or make a herd girl and go to town.

If you are in the village, remember this is NO POSSIBLE Way for one single Fleer, Yellow knife,Whiteskinned Warrior to get thru the hundred of warriors guarding the village. If you allow yourself to be taken under those conditions you are on your own.
During a raid is a different story..people are busy and so, but if during a raid you are told to go hide and stay out in the open or run out to the middle of the village to be by your man and you are taken you are on own for that is plain stupidity.
Any room witht he Barrens in the title is open season. If anything happens there and you are gotten back be prepared to answer for your actions.

Freewoman know how to take down and put up lodges. As it is their job to ready the village for its moves in the summer and winter.In less than twenty Ehn, an entire camp can be struck, packed and gone; a woman alone put up a lodge in fifteen Ehn and strike it in three;

An unmated maiden DOES NOT fur with a warrior.

When told to go sew, it means for the woman to stop her bickering and talking immediately.

If a FW causes trouble in a room and calls for help and the warriors come and get her and they find out she started this trouble, be prepared to accept your punishment for endangering the lives of the Warriors over your stupid mistakes.

Any problems or fights between the men stay between the men. You will refrain from speaking til you are asked for your opinions. It is not your place as a woman to pass judgement over a Man.

If you are found guilty of breaking any of the GLs' over and over again you will be brought before the Council and tried for your actions.

Free women should know how to hunt, in case of times of War and famine.

Free women scrape and tan hides.

They cook and clean out lodges of their mates and families.

They do work about the village right along with the slaves.

Freewomen that RP out their jobs will receive some much wapum for each item they have completed.

Free women normally wear dresses made of skins and moccasins.

Free Women do not strike Warriors.

Women, slaves and white men are not to ride forth to look upon the Pte...

Bulls are skinned by putting them on their bellies, legs pulled out; cows, which are lighter, are skinned on their sides and then turned, sometimes by ropes tied to their legs, drawn by kaiila...

Free women commonly braid their hair; slaves wear it loose;

Sewing; roll of rawhide string is held balled in the mouth and played out, bit by bit; warmth and saliva of the mouth keeps the string moist and pliable; thrusting end is twisted and wet; then thrust through holes punched in the leather with a metal or bone awl;

Women should know how to cut leather for moccasins.
A woman of a Kaiila Warrior can be punished for losing meat.
Women are set forth to do bead working, sewing and cutting and tanning hides due to the nimble fingers and sense of color.

And women that seem particularly irritating or moody will be sent to the moontime lodge.

The women of the tribe make the shirts and nominate the next shirt wearer of the band.

The woman's council also discusses the slaves forums, and over sees the agriculture and food gathering, as well as plan activities for the tribe as a whole.

Freewomen who are online and not involved in an SL while a Women's meeting is being held will lose so many wapum beads for every meeting they miss.

A punishment scale is as follows... more will be added as time goes on.

1. told to go sew
2. spanked
3. sent to the moontime lodge
4.loose of wapum beads
5. whipped with a quirt
6. Hair Shaved off
7. threat of a collar
8. Strip and collared. (this is the last resort for those FW that can not seem to control their mouths, tempers and so on)

Quotes from the Books Savages of GOR and Blood Brothers of GOR

"Bold speech, incidentally, is commonly accepted from free females of their own people by the red savages. If she grows too irritating, of course, she may, like any other woman, be beaten." page - 17

"That is the first duty of a woman," said Canka, "to obey men and be pleasing to them." page 323 Savages of GOR

"You will wear the dress of a woman and do the work of a woman. You will scrape hides and cook. You will gather kailiauk chips for the fires. You will tend lodges. You will please warriors." Page 323. Savage of GOR

"It was true that free women tended to be somewhat naive and ignorant." Page - 106

Attend to your work, Girl," said Hci to Cuwignaka, "or I will put you to sewing."
Cuwignaka, angrily, sat back on his heels. In sewing, commonly, among the red savages, a roll of rawhide string is held balled in the mouth, and played out, bit by bit. The warmth and saliva in the mouth keeps the string moist and pliable. The thrusting end is twisted and wet. It is then thrust through the holes punched in the leather, with a metal or bone awl. The moist thread, of course, as well as being easier to work with, tends to shrink in drying and make tighter stitches. With the ball of hide string in the mouth, of course, it is difficult to speak. When a woman, then, finds herself being advised by her man to attend to her sewing, she understands, well enough, that it is now time for her to be silent. She has been, in effect, ordered to put a gag in her own mouth.

"The Red Savages, as you may not know," Said Grunt to me, though doubtless he was speaking primarily for the benefit of the Hobarts, "Are rather strict about the privilege of wearing the breechclout."

"Oh?" I said.

"Yes," Said Grunt. "It is not permitted to Women, even to their own women, nor, of course, is it permitted to slaves."...

..."For a slave, or a prisoner, to wear a breechclout might be regarded as pretentious or offensive," Said Grunt, "an oversight or indiscretion calling for Torture or, say, for being set upon by boys on Kaiila, with war clubs."

"We helped her put the huge bull on his belly in the grass, pulling the legs out. Cows, which are lighter, are usually skinned on their sides, and then turned, sometimes by ropes tied to their legs, drawn by the kaiila.
Wasnapohdi thrust her knife in behind the neck, to make the first slash, from which the skin would begin to be folded back, to expose the forequarters on each side. Subsequently the hide, in the normal fashion, can be cut down the middle.
The liver had already been removed from the animal, by the hunters. It is a great delicacy, and is commonly eaten raw." page - 57

Guidelines for the Slaves:

Slaves are to be respectful, pleasing and obedient at all times.

Bold speach on the other hand is not acceptable from female slaves among the red savages.Female slaves among such peoples quickly learn thier place in which they are kept there with perfection.

Slaves are to perform obeisance 3rd position, also known as karta, to the Chieftain, Sleen soldiers, Spirit Warriors and Shirt Wearers, they do not need permission to raise.

Slaves are not lazy they don't kneel around waiting to serve, if all FP are served, then RP chores and other tasks.

Thoughts are readable in the rooms. If the thought is disrespectful the slave or slaves can be punished for them. If you wish to think out loud then go to IMs.

An FP may not always be right. But to a slave they are never wrong. The last words out of a slave's mouth is Yes Master or Mistress. NEVER argue with an FP.

When you sign on go to any Tribal room that has people, offer to serve If that is finished or else not applicable then you may swim, climb trees, play and so on, as long as you remain respectful at all times.

There is no servery in the village, the lake or any of the other rooms. Everything is kept close to the cooking fires. There are no cold boxes, crystal goblets and such. we have the basic items needed and that is it. Remember we move the village a lot there isn't time for all of those fancy things.

Slaves ran besides the kaiilas of their Masters. They are tethered to the kaiila.

The slaves are marked with from 1-5 stripes of grease paint, usually finger stripes across their cheek. Colors are commonly black or red. The Kaiila mark all their property with similar stripes.

They wear clothes of tabuk hides, or they are naked, depending on what their owner prefers, although our slaves may wear what their owners prefer.

Slaves are to make sure their owners lodges are cleaned at all times.

Collars of the Tribe  are braided thongs with beads that are tied on the slaves neck with a signature knot, it cannot be removed by the slavegirl.

Slaves are not Earth Girlfriends they are considered animals and property.

If an outsider comes into a Tribal room and tries to capture you, you do not go with that person. Tribal  rooms are safe rooms for the members of the tribe. Remember an outsider has a long way to come to get to the camps, plus has to go thru guards and warriors before reaching the center of camp.

When serving an FP your attention is always on that person, you do not greet entering FP or fellow slaves until you are released from your serve.

Below are some quotes from Books 17 and 18 to help better understand what it means to be a Slave on the Barrens, for the Red Savages....

It is natural for a slave girl, of course, to regard her master with a certain trepidation. She is after all, an animal, who is owned by him, over whom he has total power. The rational slave girl, will almost never intentionally displease her master. First, it is just to costly to do so. Secondly, for reasons that are sometimes obscure to men, these having to do with her being a female, she seldom desires to do so.
Savages of GOR, pg. 140

Example of a Kaiila  Collar:
The collars had front and back rings, were hinged on the right and locked on the left. This is a familiar form of coffle collar. The lengths of chain between the collars were about three to four feet long. Some were attached to the collar rings by the links themselves, opened and the closed about the rings, and some of them were fastened to the collar rings by snap rings. Another common form of the coffle collar has its hinge in the front and closes behind the back of the neck, like the common slave collar. It has a single collar ring, usually on the right, through which, usually, a single chain is strung. Girls are spaced on such a chain, usually, by snap rings. An advantage of the first sort of coffle arrangement is that the chain may, as girls are added or subtracted, be shortened or lengthened. A chain which has been borne by fifty girls would, of course, be impracticably heavy for five or six. An advantage of the second arrangement is that girls can be easily spaced on the chain, more or less closely together, and can be conveniently removed from, and added to, the chain.
Savages of GOR, pages 135-136

It is death to a slave, indecently, to remove such a collar without permission. Furthermore the collar is fastened by what is, in effect, a signature knot, a complex knot, within a given tribal style, whose tying is known only to the individual who has invented it. It is thus, for most practical purposes, impossible to remove and replace such a collar without the master, in his checking of the knot, by untying and retying it, being able to tell. Suffice it to say, the slaves of red savages do not remove their collars.
Savages of GOR, pg. 214

Examples of different things Slaves might wear:
He loosened the long, coiled whip fastened with a snap strap at the right of his saddle, and rose back towards us, along the right side of the coffle of barefoot, scantily clad, neck-chained beauties.
Savages of GOR, pg. 145

The red-haired girl looked well in the coffle, moving in the grass, the chain on her neck, in the brief slave tunic.
Savages of GOR, pg. 146

They had already felt that whip, through the thin brown of their slave tunics or across the back of their legs.
Savages of GOR, pg. 151

She tried with her small fists, to pull together the sides of the tunic, to protect, as she could, the rounded, interior contours of her softness from the garment's apparently thoughtless disclosure. I smiled. Did she not know it was a slave's garment? Did she not understand the statement that was made by that deep, V-shaped plunging division in the tunic, terminating only at her belly, that the woman who wore it was owned by men, that she was a slave?
Savages of GOR, pg. 169

She wore a brief garment of fringed, tanned skin, rent and stained, doubtless a castoff from some free woman's shirt dress, shortened to a slave length.
Savages of GOR, pg. 214

Quote to show that Barrens are not Branded:
"Master may have noticed that my thighs are not marked," she said.
"Yes," I said.
"I am not one of those girls from the towns, who have been branded," she said. "Oh, do not fear," she laughed, "that we are not well understood as slaves. In the camps and among the tribes, our red masters keep women such as I in our collars, to remove one of which without permission, is death."
I nodded.
"And, too," she said, "what could a white woman in the Barrens be but a slave?"
"True," I said.
"We are thus, in our way, well marked," she said.
Savages of GOR, pg. 233

Herd girls will be responsible for:

1. carrying of water
2. gathering of roots and berries
3. grooming of kaiila
4. preparing hides
5. weaving blankets
6. cooking
7. care of the young
8. keeping the camp clean
9. gathering fuel and keeping the fire fed
10. sewing
11. serving
12. dancing
13. farming...planting, watering, hoeing, gathering...
14. care, feeding, and milking of the other domesticated animals

Herd girls will, whenever not called to the feet of a Master, perform some of the above tasks.

A herd girl is answerable to any of the Tribe who call them, and will do as told, immediately and with perfection. Any Tribal member can punish a girl who is displeasing.

Herd girls are considered valued livestock. They are NOT easily stolen from the herd, by any who chooses to visit the Barrens. The Kaiila  would kill a girl rather than allow her to be stolen; it is a matter of pride.
